How does SalaryBase work?

The concept is very simple yet powerful.  Individuals share their own employment profile in SalaryBase and then get access to the aggregated statistical data from all the other relevant folks.  Each individual has access to other relevant profiles and can relate to the genuinity and thus create the overall community effect. As more and more folks join SalaryBase the accuracy and breadth of the statistics become deeper and deeper - invite your friend to join!

How reliable are these data? Should I trust all these people reporting their employment profile?

We claim that such open system with many dozens of people that share their profile will prevail - SalaryBase large sample is key here.  In addition, we're actively monitoring any abnormal statistical usage and will remove the bogus data immediately. We also let active community members report suspicious profiles by seeing the relevant profiles for them and allowing ranking

What is the difference between SalaryBase and incumbents salary data providers?

The main difference is that the incumbents are really there catering for the employers, mainly the big ones.  Their data is often skewed to the lower side of the spectrum and their data source is very limited.  SalaryBase is taking the issue solely from the employees perspective - real data from real people

I'd like to use your service but how can I be sure that my information remains confidential?

The main reason for you to be sure about this is because you'll never have to punch in any personal information like name, social security number or address! Please review our privacy policy - SalaryBase will never ever sell its data to 3rd parties

Will SalaryBase always be free? Do you make any money from this?

Free is our middle name and one of our core guiding values - make free services  Though this has started as side-gig with no financial expectations, we do manage to keep the service up from the accompanying advertisements 

It says above that you're in beta, what does it mean?

Although we do believe most people can learn a lot from the service as it is right now, we will only remove the Beta sign when SalaryBase will officially become a credible information source.  We're eagerly waiting to hear people telling their bosses stuff like: "... but I saw on SalaryBase that Hardware Engineers in our vicinity make 20% more than me...".  Drop us a line if you think we're there already

My job function or geography is not supported with SalaryBase.  Will you cover other functions and geographies? 

Definitely - our vision is to empower people from around the world to have clearer transparency on their benefits.  Still, we first wanted to feel comfortable with a few metro areas we're more familiar with and with the high tech industries.  Stay tuned and let us know what we're missing
